ABOUT KSD
KSD is an architectural design studio offering the full suite of architectural services from concept design and planning to construction documentation, permitting, and right through to building control approval and project management.
The studio’s first goal is to design well-considered spaces that are tailored to the clients' individual requirements. We approach each project with an open mind and offer our experience to find the best design for the project and our clients. The studio uses the latest 3D design & visualization tools, BIM software, VR to enable our clients to immerse themselves in the design process. We collaborate with our wide range of consultants and professionals, contractors and their teams throughout the life of each project.
Kate Svensson
Founding Director
Kate set up KSD Inc as an architectural design studio in 2008 after beginning to develop a dedicated client base whilst working in commercial practice.
Kate's experiences in the industry were the driving force behind starting her own company and establishing her architectural studio which offers services to Santa Barbara, Montecito, Los Angeles and the surrounding counties.
Brian Rivera
Principal Partner
Brian has been an essential part and the core of the practice since 2022.
He has extensive expertise in commercial, mixed-use high density residential projects, as well as high end residential design. Based in our Los Angeles office, Brian has been the force behind all of the developments in that area from schematic design through construction completion.
Marius Tomutza
Architectural Designer / Structural Design Professional
With 18 years of experience in residential, commercial, and industrial construction, Marius possesses an advanced understanding of architectural and structural design. This expertise enables him to create highly efficient structures while anticipating design elements and structural implications early in each project. He also plays a key role in overseeing field supervision procedures throughout the construction process.
Adam Stickels
Architectural Designer / BIM Manager
Adam is a creative executive of our team. He is the BIM expert in the field and the rendering wizard. He is extremely knowledgeable in local planning and zoning regulations and specifically the ADU program. He is one of the few designers that have been preapproved by the local ADU program in Santa Barbara with a collection of several designs and architectural styles.
